This is a 15 foot, straight run outdoor kitchen featuring Alfresco products along with a Kamado Joe Classic grill.

The homeowners opted to tie the outdoor kitchen into a larger patio remodel project. The outdoor kitchen is made of masonry block. They used natural stone and granite for the countertop.

Must Have Features

The homeowner loved the versatility and design integrity of the Alfresco, so he used that as the focal point of the island. He also wanted the ability to cook with charcoal so his existing Kamado Joe on a cart was added to the mix.

With this setup he can conveniently grill or sear with gas on the Alfresco or cook / smoke with charcoal and wood on his Kamado Joe. No culinary achievement is out of his reach!

Materials Used

The 15 foot island is constructed out of masonry block with natural stone facing. The countertop is granite and they are piped for natural gas. The patio is bluestone.

Design Tips / What I Like or Don’t Like About This Outdoor Kitchen

This is a great example of a straightforward island that allows for a variety of ways to cook / entertain without adding tons of components and driving up final price tag. The choice of stone blends seamlessly with the bluestone patio as well as the stainless components in the island.  One could argue that the 15 feet was unnecessary and that this island could have been built with the same components and still have ample counterspace at 12 feet. Also the mason should have installed the door / drawer combo under the grill at a lower height.
