This DCS outdoor kitchen in Westchester County, NY is a great example of maximizing space.
Originally the homeowner wanted a 15+’ island but after measuring at the house we realized it was not going to work. Not only was there a spatial constraint near the start of his pergola, but extending the island that far would get in the way of the egress in/out of the yard.
So we opted to cut the island in two – creating a 10‘ “cooking island” and a 5.5’ “refrigeration island.”
The cooking island consists of the following:
For the refrigeration island the customer used a DCS 24” refrigerator and a DCS icemaker.
The island was clad in Azek which was used on the exterior of their home and the countertop is Dekton.
What We Like About These Islands:
Incredibly sharp looking, selection of Azek was great. Smart move separating the cold / hot items.
What We Would Change About These Islands:
Not enough counter space on the cooking island.
