An oldie but goodie here!

This outdoor kitchen is from 8-10 years ago. Recently I stumbled upon the photos and it struck me how good the kitchen looks, even after all of this time has elapsed. That is significant because when I thumb through outdoor kitchen books or even search online, you can see many dated looking projects… some of which aren’t even more than 5 years old.

What I love about this kitchen is that it is timeless. Beautiful bluestone floor that ties in seamlessly with the wood flooring, classic stone (real, not concrete product) facing, quartz countertop with a high back bar, lighting and electrical outlets. There’s also a slight return for the sink with room on the other side for a few seats.  They also used the natural landscape… on the right side the island is nestled into a rock. And because of his setup the griller can keep an eye on the kids in their playground up the hill (though I wouldn’t be surprised if these kids are in college by now!).

This particular customer is a live fire cook, so he opted to use a 36” DCS gas grill for convenience, but also used a Capital all-charcoal grill for his live fire cooking. (Unfortunately this grill is no longer made!)

It’s a classic island that we can all draw inspiration from, certainly one of my all time favorites!
