This outdoor kitchen in Tarrytown, New York in Westchester County features a U-Shaped island with sink on the left leg, cooking products on middle side and a high back bar with seating on the outside right leg.
This is an ROF island structure and the customer used their own veneer, countertop and tiled backsplash.
We used the sink on the left side so we could easily tap into utilities like water and electric emanating from the house. The left side is the prep area, complete with sink, pull down faucet , trash drawer, outdoor refrigerator and an outdoor icemaker. There is also ample countertop space for prep or a landing area for food coming off the grill.
On the cooking side we have the Alfresco double side burner, Alfresco 42” Alxe-42 grill with a Blaze 39” door/drawer combo underneath, and the Memphis Pro smoker with Memphis storage drawer underneath it.
The bar island rises up 6” and the countertop extends out 12”.
Since there is a roof over the island, the customer installed a commercial hood to vent out all three of the grill components.
The true chef’s kitchen, between the Memphis and the Alfresco grill you can cook anything out here. The color scheme of the tile, countertop and veneer all blend in cohesively with the stainless steel.
They were limited by space but I would have preferred more space in between the cooking products so they don’t look cramped.
It also wasn’t ideal to vent the hood into the deck steps but that was their only direct path to duct.
