One of the most stylish outdoor projects we’ve worked on. In this case the island goes from the typical suburban backyard setting onto a Brooklyn rooftop!
The homeowner is a major cooking enthusiast so when it came to choosing his outdoor cooking vehicle he was sold on the Alfresco ALXE series. The rest of the components were a mix of other brands which we will get into below.
He had 2 islands built. The main cooking island would offer a side burner, dual trash, 42″ Alfresco grill, 39″ door / drawer combo under the grill and a Uline 24″ outdoor refrigerator. The second island would act as a bar with an elevated high back that people could sit at and talk with him while he cooks. There are no components in the second island. He used a granite countertop and Ipie wood clad over a traditional block structure.
The look! Everything from how the dark countertop, stainless steel and Ipie wood play off one another, to the hanging lighting fixtures, the patio floor, the plantings…and the views! Home run.
Not much to critique here. The only thing I would have done differently is have more uniformity with the grill components. In a small space he has 4 different brands. I would have probably used the Alfresco grill with the Alfresco single side burner then used all Blaze underneath.
